Asad
(1) In the name of God, the most gracious, The dispenser of grace:
(1) bismi allaahi alrraHmaan alrraHeemi
بِسْمِ
in the name
اللَّهِ
Allaah »(of) Allaah
الرَّحْمَٰنِ
the Merciful »the most Gracious
الرَّحِيمِ
the Compassionate »the most merciful
Asad
(2) ALL PRAISE is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds,
(2) alHamdu lillaahi rabbi al`aalameena
الْحَمْدُ
the praise »the gratitude
the thanks
لِلَّهِ
to Allaah »for Allaah
رَبِّ
lord
الْعَالَمِينَ
(of) the worlds
Asad
(3) the Most Gracious, the Dispenser of Grace,
(3) alrraHmaan alrraHeemi
الرَّحْمَنِ
the most gracious
الرَّحِيمِ
the most merciful
Asad
(4) Lord of the Day of Judgment!
(4) maaliki yawmi alddeeni
مَالِكِ
Master
يَوْمِ
day »a day
24 hour day
time between sunrise and sunset
time
الدِّينِ
Judgement Day
Asad
(5) Thee alone do we worship; and unto Thee alone do we turn for aid.
(5) iyyaaka na`budu waiyyaaka nasta`eenu
إِيَّاكَ
(only) you (s.m.)
نَعْبُدُ
we worship
وَإِيَّاكَ
and only you
نَسْتَعِينُ
we ask for help
Asad
(6) Guide us the straight way -
(6) ihdinaa alSSiraaTa almustaqeema
اهْدِنَا
guide us
الصِّرَاطَ
the road »the way
الْمُسْتَقِيمَ
Correct
Asad
(7) the way of those upon whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings, not of those who have been condemned [by Thee], nor of those who go astray!
(7) SiraaTa alladheena an`amta `alayhim ghayri almaghDoobi `alayhim walaa alDDaalleena
صِرَاطَ
the path
الَّذِينَ
(are) the ones who
أَنْعَمْتَ
you blessed
عَلَيْهِمْ
on them
غَيْرِ
not
الْمَغْضُوبِ
the angered
عَلَيْهِمْ
on them
وَلا
But not
الضَّالِّينَ
